On a hydraulic excavator, it is possible to carry out clearing land with a forestry mulcher. We took advantage of a break in the weather to meet Marcel REGENASS at his current worksite near Schirmeck, Alsace.
Could you introduce your company SARL REGENASS?
I’m co-manager of the company, which is located in Belmont, Alsace. There are currently 5 of us working for the company. We work mainly on forest clearing for RTE, the ÉS group, the town of Colmar and others. We also accept and carry out work for private individuals.
How long have you been working with Plaisance Équipements?
For over 15 years! We started out buying a ground mulcher. Then, as we expanded, we bought a Plaisance forestry mulcher, and we’ve been using this brand ever since.
Which Plaisance machines do you own?
We have 2 self-propelled machines: a Galotrax 350 and a Variotrac 300, on which we fit the BF 501, BF 552 forestry mulchers or the Plaisance BS 700 ground mulcher, depending on the job. We also have a gyro-mulcher and the BFH 301 excavator-mounted hydraulic forestry mulcher we use today.
Which machines do you prefer and why?
I like my Variotrac 300 because I can go faster to cover the areas to be worked. The wheeled machine allows me to work faster. Working with the Galotrax 350 means I can do jobs all year round, even if the ground is wet or sloping.
Finally, if you had to use just one word to define the Plaisance brand…
… robust!
